- My rating
Change broken down into 1% daily habits, built on systems rather than willpower. There are many habit books, but this one explains both the why and the how most clearly.
My notes
Sample entry to demo the bookshelf layout. Real reads will be added later via Studio.
Why I recommend it
Clear’s central idea: you do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems. Rather than setting grand goals, design an environment where good habits happen on their own.
Three things that stuck
- Identity over outcomes — not “I want to quit smoking” but “I’m not a smoker.”
- Habit stacking — anchor a new habit to an existing one.
- Make it obvious, attractive, easy, and satisfying.
Practical, readable, immediately actionable — worth rereading every year.
